Revelstoke, Canada Jan 4-11 – Unlike most of North America, where the driest early season in recent memory is currently underway, Revelstoke has been blessed by the snow gods with a fairly consistent snow fall.  Their current base measurement is 63 inches, which is deceiving when you consider that their measurements are taken at the top of the gondola, some 2,000 feet from the top of the mountain!  This enormous mountain has also received more than 20 inches since Christmas.  And, unlike many of the premier powder skiing hills of North America, Revelstoke receives such little traffic that goods can be found long after the last storm if the temperatures cooperate.

Similar to the Kirkwood competition last season, this year’s Revelstoke competition will be combining the North American-based Freeskiing World Tour and the European-based Freeride World Tour.  Fortunately a place like Revy truly appeals to the skiing styles of both regions.  With the soft, deep snow North Americans cherish and the vertical steeps the Europeans seem to enjoy so much, this competition should really be a highlight on this year’s tour!

Praxis’ only two athletes, Drew Tabke and Kevin O’meara, have gained notoriety as being podium-finishing threats in every competition they enter, and this year is no exception.  Kevin currently sits in 4th place overall with two great finishes in South America this past Summer.  Known as being one of the more stylie skiers on the tour, Kevin regularly throws huge spins off equally huge features.  Look for this Squaw shredder to really enjoy himself on all that Revy has to offer.  As for Drew, the man who enjoys everything skiing and last year’s overall Tour Champion, well, what else can you say about someone who consistently finishes every single competition at incredibly respectable positions, mostly on the podium.  The kid kills it and looks to maintain his Title this year.

Folks from Vermont to Seattle, from Utah to Squaw, will be rooting for these Praxis boys to really show what a big mountain assault looks like!  Good luck fellas!
