Praxis Skis are “Handcrafted in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.” Our factory is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, where the mountains are our backyard. Our skis are constructed by inspired skiers who strive to produce the perfect ride for a variety of individual needs and styles. By designing skis that work for you, we aim to heighten the experience of skiing by reducing fatigue and increasing the fun factor.

Praxis Skis was founded by Keith O’Meara and backed by a group of friends committed to developing new concepts for the ski industry. Over 5 years later, the factory has grown and we have the technology and knowhow to produce some of the highest quality and most durable skis in the world. Our skis are manufactured 100% in house. CNC technology allows us to produce low volumes of custom skis with very high precision. It also allows us to do a lot of prototypeing and testing very quickly. It is not uncommon for us to be on the lift talking about a new ski design on Saturday, then skiing that discussed design by the end of the week. This unique aspect of our manufacturing process allows us to push the conventions of ski technology and create innovative designs.

We are constantly working to challenge the shape and look of the ski industry. Being at the forefront of the Rocker Revolution, the skis we develop are not your ordinary skis. Our use of progressive shapes and moldings has enabled us to develop skis that make skiing off piste, powder, and variable conditions easy for even the intermediate skier, propelling the rider to a whole new level of skiing. Furthermore, our skis have been tested and proven around the world in freeskiing comps by riders Kevin O’Meara and Drew Tabke, and by Dean Cummings and H2O Guides of Alaska. Feedback from these world class athletes fuels the development of Praxis Skis.

At Praxis Skis, our focus is on creating Powder and Freeride skis. For the 2011 ski season we have eight different models, including three Powder Specific models that will change the way you look at the mountain on a powder day. We also have four Freeride models, including the new Concept, which may well alter the shape of future ski designs. Finally, our Backcountry model is one of the most progressive off piste touring skis in the world – lightweight for its size, but certainly not undersized.
