The EXP is our answer for those who explore deep into remote locations and are looking for a smaller-underfoot, fun, lightweight, easy-to-ski, expedition-style ski. It features width dimensions of 119-88-102, a longer sidecut length, a subtle tip rocker and relaxed upturn, and offers a flatter tail with pin-tail style taper.
One noticeable design feature is the 17mm overall taper between the tip and tail, which translates into the option for a quick, easy turn across a steep fall line. We wanted to offer an expedition class ski that turns with ease! The broad and substantially fatter tip allows the skier to drive turns and ski with power, while the flat tail with its notable taper gives the ski an element of forgiveness and ability to smear when sinking into soft snow, powder, or wind-affected sastrugi. This same engineering, combined with its 88mm underfoot (seemingly narrow by Praxis standards), not only allows for optimal float and balance in powder but also its ability to manage other variable off-piste backcountry skiing conditions.
Custom Suggestions:
- Consider a stiffer flex and the heavy hitter core and turn the EXP from a touring ski into an all mountain charger that will carve up the groomers and skied out off piste snow.
